Homemade Dog food with Fish Oil

The benefits of omega 3 fatty acids have been well documented for humans, but dogs can reap its benefits as well.  According to studies, omega 3 fatty acids can help improve the health of your dog both internally and externally. Skin itchiness and inflammation can be reduced by omega 3 by reducing inflammation.  The cardiac health of the dog is improved as well by decreasing the adverse effects of bad fats.  Omega 3 is usually introduced to the dog through fish oil supplements; however you can make dog food on your own using fish oil as ingredients.

Here’s how:

    Prepare the following:
    4 lb ground beef
    1 lb brown rice
    1 lb white rice or oats
    5 cups of mashed pumpkin
    12 cups of shredded spinach or any green, leafy vegetable like cabbage or lettuce
    4 cups chickpeas
    15 cups black beans or kidney beans
    3 cups fish oil   
    3 cups unflavored yoghurt or cottage cheese
    2 tablespoons minced garlic
   
•    Use a very large pot and fill with water until 2/3 full.  Bring the water to a boil and add the brown rice.
•    Reduce to medium heat and let the rice simmer stirring occasionally for about 10 minutes.
•    Add the white rice or oats add let it cook for about 15 to 20 minutes. 
•    Add the spinach and garlic. Continue simmering until the rice is very tender.  Add the peas and let it cook for 1 more minute.
•    Drain the mixture thoroughly.
•    While letting the mixture drain, heat a large skillet.  Cook the beef in the skillet until medium rare.
•    Place the mixture back in the large pot and transfer to a cool place in your house.
•    Add all the other ingredients (beans, fish oil, beef, yoghurt and whatever else you want to add) and mix thoroughly.
•    Keep the food in a cool, dry place when not used.
